NF-Only Build
My current main is a Dervish and although I'm not completely bored of it, I wanted to try something new. I read a thread somewhere about what is the 'funnest' profession to play and the Mesmer was said to be underused yet potentially exciting to play in the long run. Fine, I had a gold cane lying around, thought I'd use it. =)
I searched around for builds and found many that looked interesting. One catch: I've ONLY got NF. Every goddamn build around here seems to have Assassin's Promise or some EotN-only PvE skill that I can't access.
In the stickied guide topic for Mesmers, someone had posted a build that was almost entirely made of Core spells that I could access. Yay. I took it and modified it a bit to produce this:
[Empathy][Backfire][Conjure Phantasm][Cry of Pain][Cry of Frustration][Power Drain][Ether Feast][Resurrect]
Ten minutes on this build got me bored. Just repeated [Empathy] or [Backfire] -> [Conjure Phantasm] -> [Cry of Pain] and interrupt whenever. NOT yay.
I searched a bit more, found this build:
[Extend Conditions]["You Move Like A Dwarf!"][Ash Blast][Cry of Pain][Phantom Pain][Shrinking Armor][Drain Delusions][Technobabble]
Now THAT'S what I'm talking about. A sexy looking bar that requires thinking and choice and not simply spam-the-same-pattern-every-time. Is there any way that I can form a bar with some resemblance to this build with just Nightfall?
Lastly, thought I'd ask anyway. I enjoy playing a Dervish because of the extremely big damage numbers AND the importance in maintaining your spells/enchantments. I enjoy support, but would like to be able to do good damage as well. Do YOU think the Mesmer is right for me, or can you suggest another character? Personally, I'm also quite interested in the Paragorn... The majority of Paragorn skills are all in NF anyway so that would be a bonus.
What are your thoughts?
